$280 raised from Recycling for Nature Project
I recently launched our second Recycling for Nature Project on America Recycles Day (November 15, 2021). The project lasted two months – from November 15, 2021 to January 14, 2022 – and together, my sister and I encouraged friends and neighbors to help us collect used empty plastic bottles and aluminum cans to promote recycling and prevent waste from entering landfills.
In those two months we collected an astounding 91 Lb of aluminum cans and 92 Lb plastic bottles. We made a handful of trips to the recycling center and are happy to announce that we have raised a total of $280! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped us in recycling and reducing waste.
All recycling proceeds were donated to The Environmental Nature Center (ENC) in Newport Beach. Last week, I met up with with Mrs. Mindy Schwartz (Education Director of ENC) to hand her the check of $280.
Adding this to our first Recycling for Nature Project back in April 2021, we have raised a total of $395 for the ENC and prevented a total of 183Lb of plastic bottles and aluminum cans from entering landfills.
We hope you will join us to recycle in your home. Here's a video we made on the Do's and Don'ts of Recycling, check it out!
